STYLEM TAKISADA-OSAKA CO., LTD. (Head Office: Naniwa-ku, Osaka; President: Ryuta Taki; hereinafter “Stylem”) has established a joint venture company, “Canale Japan Co., Ltd.” (hereinafter “Canale Japan”), with Kozukakeori Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture; President: Yasuhiro Kozuka; hereinafter “Kozukakeori”).
■ Background and Purpose of Establishment
In Bishu, one of Japan's leading textile production regions, fabrics have long been created using Schoenherr looms, which produce a unique texture. However, in recent years, the continuation of these techniques and equipment has been jeopardized by the aging of craftsmen and a lack of successors.
Stylem recognized the unique qualities of fabrics woven on Schoenherr looms and saw global market potential through its collaboration with Kozukakeori, which owns and utilizes these looms.
Kozukakeori, too, has been actively working on expanding its equipment and training successors, but faced challenges in passing on techniques and establishing a sustainable production system. After repeated discussions, the two companies decided to establish this joint venture.
Schoenherr Loom
Canale Japan aims to pass on and sustainably develop Japan's advanced techniques to the next generation through the manufacturing and sales of fabrics made with Schoenherr looms.
By combining the long-cultivated skills of craftsmen with Stylem's global network, the company aims to promote high value-added MADE IN JAPAN textiles worldwide.
