Working with Raw Materials from Around the World to Create the Value at Its Source Working with Raw Materials from Around the World to Create the Value at Its Source

With a long-established network connecting production regions worldwide, we source a diverse range of raw materials, including wool, cotton, and linen. By visiting areas such as South Africa and Australia, we advance raw material development that maximizes the unique characteristics of each region. Through environmentally and socially responsible initiatives such as "ORGANIC FIELD®," regenerative cotton, and ZQ+, we support sustainable, high-value-added manufacturing.

Our Initiatives

Your Creative Partner in Raw Materials

The Value of Manufacturing Begins with Raw Materials

We visit production regions, farmers, and spinning mills around the world in search of raw materials. By engaging in dialogue with local partners, we gain a deep understanding of the background and processes behind these materials, capturing their inherent value. Understanding the processes behind the scenes enhances the value of raw materials and builds lasting trust with our customers.

Our Commitment to Raw Materials

Environmental challenges surrounding raw material production are intensifying each year. At STYLEM, we look beyond the materials we work with, considering the environments and the contexts in which they are produced, to advance sustainable manufacturing.

ORGANIC FIELD®

Supporting Farmers Through the Transition to Organic Farming

ORGANIC FIELD supports cotton farmers in India as they transition to organic farming practices. Conventional cotton cultivation relies on pesticides and chemical fertilizers, which can adversely affect soil quality, water resources, ecosystems, and the livelihoods of farming communities. Transitioning to organic farming, however, takes time, and farmers often face unstable yields and income during this conversion period. To address these challenges, we continuously purchase “Cotton in Conversion,” enabling farmers to adopt organic farming practices with greater confidence and stability. In addition, we manage the entire process—from seed selection and cotton cultivation to yarn production—under organic standards, ensuring traceability throughout the supply chain. Looking beyond the material itself to focus on the people and environments behind its production, we advance sustainable manufacturing forward.

Regenerative Cotton

Restoring and Nurturing the Soil

As environmental and agricultural challenges intensify worldwide, we embrace the principles of regenerative agriculture, an approach gaining significant attention in countries such as Australia and the United States. In collaboration with J.G. Boswell Company, a major agricultural enterprise in the United States, we are advancing cotton production initiatives that prioritize soil health and responsible production practices. Regenerative cotton is cultivated based on the principle of not simply using the soil, but restoring and nurturing it. By incorporating practices such as no-till farming and cover cropping*1, this approach supports natural cycles and soil ecosystems, fostering more sustainable farming. We commit to manufacturing in harmony with the natural environment, adopting approaches aligned with local conditions and production backgrounds.

Commitment to ZQ+

Production That Preserves Nature

Originating with sheep farmers in the Southern Hemisphere, ZQ+ is a regenerative agriculture program dedicated to cultivating a better future in harmony with nature. It evaluates farm practices from the perspectives of the environment, animals, and people, visualizing commitments to climate action, animal welfare, and biodiversity. In recent years, looking beyond the quality of materials themselves to focus on how they are produced has become increasingly important. Aligning with ZQ+’s philosophy of environmentally responsible and sustainable production, we have adopted ZQ+ wool.
Furthermore, we ensure full traceability from raw material to fabric, promoting a transparent supply chain. Today, it is no longer enough for materials to simply return to nature; the contexts in which they are produced must inherently preserve it. That is why we are looking to ZQ+ as our next step.
