Originating with sheep farmers in the Southern Hemisphere, ZQ+ is a regenerative agriculture program dedicated to cultivating a better future in harmony with nature. It evaluates farm practices from the perspectives of the environment, animals, and people, visualizing commitments to climate action, animal welfare, and biodiversity. Aligning with this philosophy, STYLEM has adopted ZQ+ wool since 2023. Furthermore, we guarantee full traceability across every stage of production for textiles made with ZQ+ wool—from raw material to the finished fabric—promoting sustainable and reliable manufacturing.
What Is
ZQ+ is a regenerative agriculture framework for growing wool developed by the Zentera Wool Company. It builds on the trusted foundations of the ZQ certification and goes further by supporting measurable improvements to the environment. ZQ+ growers use regenerative farming practices that strengthen soil health, protect native ecosystems, support biodiversity, improve greenhouse gas sequestration and enhance long-term environmental resilience.
Furthermore, because ZQ+ wool＊ is a premium price compared to conventional wool, it provides an economic incentive that ensures a sustainable system.

Why Sustainable Choices Are
Essential for
As a 100% natural fiber made from organic proteins, wool is inherently biodegradable and naturally circulates within Earth’s ecosystems. However, behind its production lie environmental impact and animal welfare concerns. Sheep farming requires vast amounts of land, and the methane gas emitted through rumination is considered a key contributor to global warming. Overgrazing can also lead to soil degradation and a loss of biodiversity. Furthermore, traditional practices like “mulesing,” while intended to protect sheep health, inflict severe physical and mental distress on lambs.
Today, it is no longer enough for a material to simply return to nature; the production methods themselves must actively protect it. This is why we are looking to ZQ+ as our next step.
