Triporous™ is a naturally derived porous carbon material made from rice husks, developed independently by Sony Group Corporation. STYLEM uses Triporous, which recycles surplus resources, in the textile and apparel sector, focusing on providing textile materials that can be used for a variety of applications, including clothing. STYLEM is supporting product development that leverages Triporous’ antibacterial and deodorizing properties through collaboration and co-creation with other companies, and is promoting its use in a wider range of markets.
What is Triporous™?
Triporous™, a new material developed by Sony, is a naturally derived porous carbon material made from rice husks. With its patented unique microstructure, a wide range of applications is expected such as water and air purification. Furthermore, by effectively utilizing excess resources, Triporous could contribute to reduction of environmental impact and to a recycle-oriented society while generating the next breakthrough technology.

We offer a wide range of materials, including woven fabrics made from comfortable jersey and tricot as a base, for use in fashion apparel and sportswear for activities such as golf, jogging, fitness, and yoga.
Furthermore, for use in loungewear and underwear, we offer a variety of materials that combine the antibacterial and deodorizing effects of Triporous with a focus on comfort when in direct contact with the skin.
Material for Lifestyle Goods
We provide materials for upholstery for sofas and chairs, as well as lifestyle goods such as towels and bags, utilizing the antibacterial and deodorizing properties of Triporous derived from natural sources.
